If you didn't make it to the Kata Clinic June 23rd, you missed out on a really fun and informative experience! After Sensei Miladi taught us the basic rules, we put on our gi's and worked on 2 Katas, Shotokan Jion taught by Sensei Miladi and Shito-Ryu Bassai-Dai taught by guest instructor Sensei Joey Cruz. The refresher on Jion was of course much needed and for all the Shotokan practitioners, Sensei Joey's explanations of the major differences between Shotokan Bassai-Dai and Shito-Ryu Bassai-Dai were invaluable. Not to mention, we had a blast!
